Australian Shepherds

In my former life we had horses, and the natural thing was to have a trail dog to follow along when you rode the trails. The trail dog of choice in the '70s was the Australian Shepherd, so that's what we got. Our first three came from a strictly working breeder at a time when most working breeders registered with National Stock Dog and the show people registered with ASCA. The second one, Shad, got me hooked on showing, mainly obedience as he was so intelligent and such a quick learner. The third, Flower, was a black tri bitch that was my first experience with breeding for something to keep. That litter led me to my foundation bitch, Pasha, and a growing passion for showing, the breed and dogs in general. It wasn't until some twenty years later that Mastiffs entered our lives.
