Breedings

Pasha's litters over the years were varied, from total outcross to inbred. She produced best with her "cousin" Mex/ASCA Ch. Adelaide's Scottsman of Windermere. Scotty was owned by Pam Bethurum and he came to live with us for the latter half of his life after becoming sterile. This cross with Scotty was what we called a "nick." They produced beautiful, consistent puppies with none of the genetic problems that were prevalent during those times.

The first cross had two gorgeous pups -- Crestwood Athena (blue bitch) and Crestwood Cielo Rojo (red tri male). Unfortunately we were unable to assess their potential because they were lost early to distemper.

Athena was purchased by Linda Salie of Doggone Aussies in Ajax, Oklahoma. She would have been with Spirit when he and eight others perished in a fire on the way to the National Specialty, but we lost Athena and CR to distemper before she was sent.

The second produced six beautiful pups. While only one was shown to his championship (Ch. Crestwood Dan Patch), several others were pointed with very limited showing ― Crestwood Midnight Passion, Crestwood Scotch High and Crestwood Russian Flag. I probably should have continued with this cross, but I elected to try a couple of other options.

Her markings were a mirror image of  Bunny, hence the name.

Scotch was bred to Bunny (check our her page to see their pups).

The first was to her grandsire, George's Red Rustler. There were some very nice pups out of this cross, but we did have one instance of hip dysplasia, so I felt this was a little close.

We also used a total outcross, Ch. Las Rocosa Ricky Taylor. We knew Pasha was red-factored so wanted to try breeding to a red type that was different from the Red Rustler red to see how that produced, but we didn't get any reds.

Pasha was later leased out to several other breeders -- Rose Spicuzza, Linda Sheperd and Debra Frey. I don't have any information on litters from Rose and Linda, but Deb took a chance and bred to her son, Crestwood Russian Flag. I took a blue merle female, Crestwood Final Passion (Paris) and Deb kept a red tri female Seneca Foreign Affair (Farrah).
